Esko Paananen is responsible for operational risk management and security at Nordic Investment Bank (NIB). The bank finances projects that improve productivity and benefit the environment of the Baltic and Nordic region. The bank is owned by the eight Baltic and Nordic states. Before NIB, Esko worked at Nordea and Danske Bank. Throughout his 15-year career in these three banks, he’s built strong teams and capabilities in the areas of anti-money laundering, regulatory compliance and operational risk. Esko firmly believes that beyond all the technicalities, the most important drivers for robust risk management and corporate compliance is the right data and a healthy culture of taking the right decisions based on it.
